Our Secondary Girls and Boys have both recently completed the first stage of their Duke of Edinburgh International Award expedition. Each group travelled separately to the Hajar Mountains range in Ras Al Khaimah to camp and trek. Over two days the girls completed a total of 6 hours of activity per day averaging 12 kilometres, and the boys trekked an average of 16 kilometres per day over three days. We are super proud of them and huge thanks to Mr Mark and Ms Elise for organising and planning the expeditions, Ms Lisa the DoE assessor and all other staff members that participated over the weekend.
Ajman Academy is the only school in Ajman making this Award available to its students.
The Award equips young people for life and work.
Not all learning happens in the classroom. Young people need experiences outside the classroom to become committed, responsible and fulfilled citizens of the world.
Since its launch over 60 years ago, the Award has inspired millions of young people to transform their lives. Through non-formal education, the Award can play a critical role in a young person’s personal development, and we make this available to AJAC students who want to take up the challenge.
